Water Control
Anchored Walls installs the Safe Basements' Water Control System. The Water Control System helps water problems by controlling the path of water that may enter your basement. This is an interior tile system which helps maintain the water levels below the floor grade so that water levels don't rise high enough to invade your basement and cause water problems. The tile system directs the water to the sump pit and then is pumped out of the basement. The tile system helps to dry the subsoil below the floor which reduces the moisture in the air and stops water from "wicking" through the floor.
The system is installed by breaking out 12 inches of the concrete/floor material along the wall with jack hammer and removing it. The trench is dug and loose material is removed from the trench and hauled off. The tile is installed and the trench is backfilled with a clean course sand mixture. Holes are drilled in the bottom of block walls to allow the water which may collect in the holes of the block to drain into the tile system. The wall edging is installed for a moisture tight system. The concrete that was broken out is replaced.
Installation of the Water-Control System
- Cut/Score the trench line approximately 10-12 inches away from the wall.
- Break out concrete/floor material with Jack Hammer and remove material.
- Dig out Trench 4-6 inches wide to install the Multi-Flow tile.
- Once trench is completely cleaned from loose debris, Multi-Flow tile is installed.
- Backfill and compact trench with a clean course sand mixture.
- Drill holes in block walls for water to drain from blocks.
- Install the wall edging for water/moisture passage.
- Replace concrete that was broken out.
